A roadshow on layer farming with the topic “The road to cost-efficient and sustainable layer production” will be held on August 13, 2024, at the Song Tien Hall in My Tho City, Tien Giang Province.

Tien Giang’s poultry industry breaks out in the first half of 2024

As of June 1, 2024, Tien Giang is the province with the largest poultry flock in the Mekong Delta region, with a total of 16.57 million birds, an increase of 2.53%. Egg production is estimated at 600 million eggs, up 12.3% from the same period in 2023. Favourable climatic conditions, abundant feed sources, and a team of experienced breeders have created favourable conditions for the strong development of egg-laying chicken farming.

However, the province’s poultry industry is also facing numerous challenges. Fluctuations in feed prices and product output prices, the ever-present risk of disease outbreaks, and increasingly stringent technical and food safety standards pose major obstacles to the industry’s development.

Understanding the difficulties and needs of farmers in the context of industry fluctuations, Vietstock organizes a roadshow to provide practical knowledge and solutions for the professional development, competitiveness, and sustainability of the poultry industry. The seminar will be a platform for experts to share knowledge and practical solutions to the problems in livestock farming.

Vietstock’s roadshow – Solutions for improving layer production efficiency

Continuing the series of livestock roadshows to promote the development of Vietnam’s livestock industry, in collaboration with the Animal Husbandry Association in Vietnam, the Subdepartment of Livestock Production & Animal Health in Tien Giang, and Can Tho University, Vietstock will organize a layer roadshow on August 13, 2024, at the Song Tien Hall in My Tho City, Tien Giang Province.

The seminar will provide practical solutions for layer farms and households in Tien Giang. This is an opportunity for farmers, businesses, and experts to come together to exchange, learn, and find optimal solutions for the egg-laying chicken farming industry in Vietnam.

Attending the seminar, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Dat – Vice President of Animal Husbandry Association in Vietnam – Overview of Poultry Production in Vietnam – Challenges & Opportunities.

Following the program, Dr. Le Thanh Hai – VIGOVA Poultry Research and Development Center, National Institute of Animal Sciences will share in-depth on the content of Breeds and Breeding to improve livestock productivity, egg quality and layer farming efficiency.

The topic of New break-through in high technology applications in layer farming in Tien Giang will be presented at the layer roadshow by Dr. Thai Quoc Hieu – Vice President of Animal Husbandry – Animal Health Association in Tien Giang, Deputy Director – Subdepartment of Livestock Production & Animal Health in Tien Giang.

The seminar concludes with the content of Bantam chicken with gold standard – The spotlight of livestock production in Tien Giang from Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Ngu – Vice Principal – College of Agriculture, Can Tho University.
